Privacy policy
Inizio IT (ABN 32 160 483 201) (“Inizio IT”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect the personal information we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- Contact details — your name, company, email address and phone number, for example when you complete our contact form, email or call us.
- Enquiry details — anything you choose to include in a message to us.
- Technical information — your IP address and basic browser information, used to protect our website from spam and abuse.
- Client information — if you become a client, the details we need to provide and invoice our services, such as account contacts and billing information.
We don’t collect sensitive information (such as health information) unless it’s genuinely needed and you’ve agreed to it.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you — through our website, by email, by phone, or in person. Occasionally we may receive information from a third party, such as a referral from an existing client, and we’ll only use it for the purpose it was provided.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the information you’ve asked for.
- To deliver, support and invoice our IT and security services.
- To keep our website and systems secure, including preventing spam and misuse.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We won’t send you marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and you can opt out at any time. We never sell or rent your personal information.
Information in client systems
When we provide managed IT services, we may have access to systems that contain personal information belonging to our clients or their staff and customers. We access that information only as needed to deliver the agreed services, keep it confidential, and handle it in line with our client agreements and this policy.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with trusted providers that help us run our business, and only as much as they need. These include:
- Email delivery — SMTP2GO, which delivers messages sent through our contact form.
- Website security — Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that contact form submissions come from real people.
- Website hosting — our web hosting provider, which stores our website.
- Website analytics — Google, through Google Analytics and Google Site Kit, which help us understand how our website is used.
- Business systems — Microsoft 365, which we use for email, documents and communication.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies, analytics and website data
We use Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand how people use our website so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived at our site, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (for example, city or country). This information is aggregated and we don’t use it to identify you personally.
Our website also uses cookies and similar technologies needed for it to work and stay secure, such as those used by our spam protection, and our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. This includes multi-factor authentication, encryption, access controls and up-to-date security practices — the same standards we apply for our clients.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then securely delete or de-identify it.
Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it’s inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
